HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football, indoor volleyball and soccer teams will hit the road, while the cross country teams will open their season during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The No. 19/20 SLU football team (0-1, 0-1 SLC) will open the road portion of its 2026 schedule Saturday, traveling to South Alabama for a 6 p.m. contest in Mobile, Ala.
 
The Lion indoor volleyball team (0-3) will continue its season-opening six-match road swing with a pair of matches at the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic in Lafayette. Southeastern will open the tournament with a 6 p.m. match versus the host Ragin' Cajuns Thursday. SLU will then take on Memphis Friday at 2 p.m.
 
Riding a four-match unbeaten streak, the Southeastern soccer team (3-1-1) opens the week Thursday with a 7 p.m. match at Southern. The Lions then head to South Alabama Sunday for a 6 p.m. match in Mobile, Ala.
 
The SLU cross country teams will open their 2026 season Friday, traveling to New Orleans for the Battle for New Orleans at 5:15 p.m.
 
On the Air
This week's football game and Sunday's soccer game will be televised on ESPN+.
 
Saturday's football game will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
 
The same affiliates will air this week's episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, which airs Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the show will cover all things Lion Football and, following the debut episode, will air weekly Mondays at 7 p.m.  
 
Delta Tau Delta President Travers Benoit will be Monday's special guest.
