HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football and indoor volleyball teams officially open their respective regular seasons, the soccer team looks to continue its strong start and the 2026 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo debuts during this week in Southeastern Athletics.  
 
The No. 19/20 SLU football team (0-0) will open the season at home for the first time since 2019, welcoming Southland Conference foe HCU to Strawberry Stadium Thursday for a 6 p.m. contest. Thursday will also be a Green Out, as fans are encouraged to wear green to support the Lions.
 
The Southeastern indoor volleyball team (0-0) will travel to Oxford, Miss. to compete in the Ole Miss Invitational to open the 2026 regular season. SLU will open the tournament against the host Rebels Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday will see the Lions take on LMU at 2 p.m., before closing the tournament Sunday at 11 a.m. versus Northern Arizona.
 
Winners of three straight games, the Southeastern soccer team (3-1-0) will open a three-game road swing this week. SLU will be in Hattiesburg, Miss. Thursday for a 3 p.m. matchup at Southern Miss.
 
On the Air
This week's football and soccer games will be televised on ESPN+, while Friday's volleyball match will air on SEC Network+.
 
Thursday's football game will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
 
The same affiliates will air this season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, which debuts Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the show will cover all things Lion Football and, following the debut episode, will air weekly Mondays at 7 p.m.
