HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University freshman
David Marsh was named to the 2026 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Men's Golf Collegiate Team, the LSWA announced Wednesday.
Marsh, a Baton Rouge, La. native, was a first team selection.
In his debut collegiate season, he posted a 73.3 stroke average over 30 rounds and was SLU's top finisher in five of the 10 tournaments he played in. Marsh saved his best performance of his freshman campaign for last, as he posted a second-place showing at the Southland Conference Championships.
The performance at the league tournament was one of two top-10 showings for Marsh, as he finished sixth at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in the fall. He shot under par for 10 rounds in 2025-26, including a low round of 67 at the Colin Montgomerie HCU Invitational.
UL Lafayette's Malan Potgieter was named the state's Player of the Year. LSU claimed the other two individual awards with Dan Hayes earning Freshman of the Year accolades and Jake Amos claiming Coach of the Year recognition.
The All-Louisiana Men's Golf team was selected by the state's media relations directors. Voters were not allowed to vote for their school's nominees.
