LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams concluded the NCAA East First Round at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Facility Saturday.
Onyah Favour continued her spectacular season in the 400-meter dash quarterfinals in Lexington. The junior placed second with a school-record 50.25 time, securing a spot in the NCAA National Championships for the second consecutive season.
Her 50.25 time was also a Southland Conference record, after previously besting the mark in the preliminaries on Thursday. In the 2025 NCAA East First Round, Favour placed fourth with a 51.94 time. The sprinter improved her previous best time by nearly 1.7 seconds in 2026.
In the second section of the dash, Favour placed second, finishing behind Georgia's Dejanea Oakley, who won the overall event with a 49.48 time, a facility record. Before today, Favour's 50.25 time would have secured her the facility record.
On Friday,
Donald Butler ended the men's high jump with a 2.06-meter mark (6'9") to place 36
th. The senior closed his season by making his first career appearance at the NCAA East First Round.
For the second straight year, Favour will travel to the NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., the annual site of the National Championships. The meet will begin on Wednesday, June 10, and conclude on Saturday, June 13. The junior will compete in the 400-meter dash semifinals at 6:41 p.m. PDT on Thursday, June 11. The finals are set to take place at 6:02 p.m. Saturday.
The NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships will be televised on ESPN2, starting at 7 p.m. CDT on each day of the event.
