HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team will return to the sand for postseason play to compete in the 2026 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Southeastern (15-14, 5-2 SLC) will open the tournament Wednesday at 11 a.m. versus conference rival seventh-seed Nicholls (8-21, 0-6 SLC). SLU remained undefeated against the Colonels this season, closing out the regular season 3-0 over the conference foes. Though the Sandy Lions will seek to gain momentum early in the tournament after dropping their last two regular season matches on the road, falling 4-1 versus Missouri State and 3-2 against North Alabama.
SLU ended the regular season with its best record in program history while earning its first appearance in the CBVB Top 50 poll. The Sandy Lions also broke the record for their most single season wins in program history alongside three pairs being selected for SLC Pair of the Week, the first time in school history.
The tournament is set to kick off at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning as fourth-seed Houston Christian will face fifth-seed New Orleans. Southeastern will open serve against Nicholls as the in-state opponent will seek to snap its seven-match losing streak after falling 5-0 versus McNeese.
Concluding Wednesday morning, with a win over Nicholls, SLU will move on to face the winner of third-seed McNeese and sixth-seed SFA at 3 p.m. to close out the day. All matches will be hosted at the Water's Edge Park in Corpus Christi, Texas April 22-24 and will be streamed on ESPN+.
