HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball was represented by two pairs on the Southland All-Conference teams, released Tuesday morning by the conference office.
Southeastern's pair four Makayla Hicks and Cadie Kusy earned second-team honors as they remained a dynamic force for the green and gold this season.
Hicks, a senior from Oceanside, Calif., and Kusy, a native of Prairieville, La., finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-10. The duo closed out the regular season 17-5 as pair four for SLU while claiming big wins over No. 12 LSU, Tulane and North Alabama. Hicks and Kusy ended conference play 6-1 and finished 11 matches with two-set victories, securing the most wins for pair four in program history.
At pair four, the duo earned SLC Pair of the Week (Mar. 17) earlier this season and helped the Sandy Lions claim its most regular season wins in program history. Hicks and Kusy won nine of their last 12 matches as a steady pair for SLU.
Hardouin, native of New Orleans, La., and Schubert, a San Antonio, Texas native, claimed second team all-conference honors.
The fifth-year senior and sophomore consistently provided a spark of momentum for Southeastern this season with an overall record of 17-8. Hardouin and Schubert tied for the most single season wins (17) at pair five while also claiming the team's longest eight-match winning streak. The pair ended the regular season winning nine of their last 12 matches and helped the Sandy Lions earn their first appearance in the CBVB Top 50 poll in program history.
Southeastern will enter postseason play, competing in the 2026 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas Wednesday, April 22-24. No. 2 SLU will face No. 7 Nicholls Wednesday at 11 a.m. for its first match. All matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and hosted at the Water's Edge Park.
