Lions Sit in Third after Day One at AState Spring Invitational

Dorr, East lead Southeastern through 36 holes

JONESBORO, Ark, – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team sits in a tie for third place after the opening two rounds at the Arkansas State Spring Invitational wrapped up Monday at Ridgepointe Country Club.
 
Southeastern (+13) is in a four-way tie for third place with New Orleans, Bradley and Omaha. Tournament host Arkansas State (-20) holds a 17-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round.
 
Leading the way for the Lions Monday were Griffin Dorr and Landen East, who both shot even par to finish the opening day in a tie for 13th place. Dorr opened the day with a three-under par 69, while East was third in the field with 10 birdies on the way to back-to-back rounds of 72.
 
David Marsh, who led the field with 25 pars, finished three-over par for the day and is currently tied for 23rd. Noah Bumgarner (+4, 25th), Patrick Blaum (+7, T34th), Gavin Ingram (+8, T38th) and Ethan Dial (+8, T38th) were the other SLU competitors.
 
East and Dial are competing as individuals at this week's tournament. Arkansas State's Thomas Schmidt (-9) holds the lead in the individual standings after 36 holes.
 
Southeastern will be paired with HCU and Arkansas State for Tuesday's final round, which tees off at 7:45 a.m. Live scoring, provided by the hosts, will be accessible via the men's golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
