HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will look to head into next week's Southland Conference Championships with positive momentum, competing in the Arkansas State Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Ridgepointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark.
Southeastern will be one of 11 teams in the field competing on the par-72, 6,676-yard course. The first two rounds are scheduled for Monday with the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday. The action will start at 7:45 a.m. both days and live scoring, provided by host Arkansas State, will be accessible via the men's golf schedule page at
www.LionSports.net.
SLU will be paired with Lindenwood, as well as individuals from Arkansas State, New Orleans and HCU. The field also includes Bradley, Missouri State, Omaha, Oral Roberts and Utah Valley.
The Lions are coming off two solid performances in March. SLU finished sixth at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate, as
David Marsh,
Gavin Ingram and
Patrick Blaum tied for team-high honors (+4, T26th). Prior to the that, Southeastern posted a third-place showing at the Colin Montgomerie-HCU Invitational behind top-20 finishes by
Griffin Dorr and
Noah Bumgarner.
Marsh, Ingram, Blaum, Dorr and Bumgarner comprise the SLU starting five this week in Jonesboro.
Ethan Dial and
Landen East will represent the Lions as individuals at this week's tournament.
Following this week's action, Southeastern will travel to Kerrville, Texas for the SLC Championships April 20-22 at Comanche Trace.
