HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball and softball teams open their respective Southland Conference home schedules, while the tennis, track and beach volleyball teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern baseball team (9-6, 2-1 SLC) carries a three-game winning streak into this week's action, which opens with a 6:30 p.m. contest Wednesday at South Alabama.
 
SLU will then return home to the Pat to host SFA for a three-game SLC series. The series opens with Youth Sports Night Friday at 6 p.m. The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Each Friday Funday at the Pat during the season will features fans 12 and under receiving the opportunity to stand with their favorite Lion during the national anthem. Each Saturday will feature Bingo at the Ballpark, while every Sunday will be Military Appreciation Day.
 
After playing 20 straight games on the road, the two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Lady Lion softball team (18-9, 3-0 SLC) opens an eight-game home stand this week. SLU welcomes Southern Miss for a 5 p.m. nonconference contest Wednesday at North Oak Park.
 
Wednesday's game, which will be sponsored by Tangi Tourism and televised on ESPN+, will feature the Pack the Park promotion. Students will receive free t-shirts by presenting their student ID. It's also Greek Night and fans can bring donations to the Southeastern Student Food Pantry.
 
Southeastern then welcomes HCU for a three-game SLC set. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon.
 
Like the softball team, the SLU tennis team (9-2, 2-0 SLC) remains unbeaten in league play heading into this week's action. Southeastern hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday at 10 a.m., before welcoming Grambling Saturday.
 
The Southeastern track and field teams will open the outdoor season at home Saturday. The Andy Thiel Season Opener will start at 9 a.m. at the Southeastern Track and Field Complex.
 
Fresh off its first wins of the spring, the SLU beach volleyball team (2-7) will compete at the Tulane Bayou Beach Duals this week in New Orleans. Friday will see Southeastern face UTEP, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Central Arkansas. Saturday's Beach Lion slate includes matches with McNeese, Nicholls and Tulane.
