HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team will continue Southland Conference play this week with a pair of league road matches at in-state rivals.
SLU (9-6, 2-3 SLC) opens the week with a 2 p.m. contest at New Orleans (7-6, 1-2 SLC) Saturday. The Lions then head to Nicholls (3-8, 0-4 SLC) for a 6 p.m. match Monday.
Paige Duncan (9-3, 4-1 SLC),
Adriana Tirado (10-4, 3-2 SLC) and
Aitana Darder (4-4, 3-2 SLC) boast SLU's best singles marks in Southland Conference play.
Duncan and
Bente Bierma (7-4, 3-2 SLC) have won three straight doubles matches. Darder and
Taisia Bolsova (7-7, 2-2 SLC), as well as Tirado and
Mariam Tetradze (7-6, 1-3 SLC) round out the Southeastern doubles lineup.
New Orleans is led in singles play by Fleur Sprengers (11-1, 2-1 SLC). Sprengers and Danique Vermue (7-3, 2-1 SLC) are the Privateers' top doubles duo.
Nicholls is looking for its first conference victory and Bianca Losada (5-4, 2-1 SLC) boasts the Colonels' best singles mark. Jada Iverson and Julia Bordiginon (6-4, 2-2 SLC) have the team's top doubles mark.
Following this week's action, SLU will close out its three-match road swing at McNeese next Saturday at 2 p.m.
