HAMMOND, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will open an eight-game road swing with a nonconference contest at ULM Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Southeastern (26-9) heads into Tuesday's game, which will be televised on ESPN+, on a school-record tying 12-game winning streak. The host Warhawks are 19-16 overall after taking two of three from South Alabama last weekend.
SLU is batting .340 as a team on the season, behind
Shelby Morris, who is hitting .415 and is 13
th in Division I with 49 hits.
Colleen Kulivan (.380),
Cydnee Schneider (.379),
Chloe Magee (.354) and
Kailey Dixon (.333) are the other top hitters for average.
Morris also leads SLU with 33 runs scored. Southeastern is currently fifth nationally with 82 stolen bases, as Magee (15), Morris (14) and
Shenita Tucker (11) have all swiped double-digit bags.
Maria Detillier is SLU's top power threat with seven home runs and 30 RBI, followed closed by
Brilee Ford (5 HR, 24 RBI). The Lions lead the nation with 17 triples, as Morris paces the team and ranks 13
th in Division I with four. Schneider is also 13
th nationally with a league-best 12 doubles.
The Southeastern pitching staff is sixth in Division I with a 1.93 team ERA and third nationally with 11 shutouts.
Haley Crawford (2-1, 1.18 ERA, 2 saves) and
Cera Blanchard (9-1, 1.27 ERA, 1 save) currently rank fifth and ninth, respectively, in the nation in ERA.

Macie LaRue (3-2, 2.63 ERA, 1 save),
Tyler Oubre (0-1, 5.53 ERA),
Katherine Thiessen (2-1, 1.91 ERA),
Bre Clark (1-0, 0.81 ERA) and
Celia Lamkin (0-0, 3.50 ERA) also have seen action in the circle for the Lady Lions.
ULM is batting .285 as a team behind Morgan Brown (.366). Ashanti McDade (7-8, 2.79 ERA, 1 save) and Skylar Waggoner (5-3, 2.83 ERA, 1 save) have handled the majority of the innings in the circle for a Warhawk staff that carries a 3.36 team ERA.
Following Tuesday's contest, Southeastern will look to continue its undefeated start to Southland Conference play, traveling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game series. The series opens with a 4 p.m. contest Friday and continues with a noon doubleheader Saturday. All three games will be televised on ESPN+.
