HAMMOND, La. –The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will open the spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule this week, competing at the Bentwater Intercollegiate at Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery, Texas.
Southeastern will be one of 14 teams competing in the field at the 6,788-yard, par-71 course. Monday's first 36 holes start at 8 a.m. with the final round set for Tuesday. Live scoring, provided by host Sam Houston State, will be accessible via the men's golf schedule page at

SLU will be one of four Southland Conference schools competing in Montgomery, along with HCU, UIW and East Texas A&M. Southeastern will be paired with UIW and Prairie View for Monday's action.
The Lion starting five for the spring opener will be a combination of youth and experience, featuring three freshmen and two seniors. Freshman
David Marsh led SLU with a 71.3 stroke average this fall, while fellow freshman
Gavin Ingram (72.1 fall stroke average), shot under par in three of the four tournaments he appeared in.
Senior
Patrick Blaum (73.3), senior
Noah Bumgarner (74.3) and freshman
Lorenzo Palmieri (74.4) will round out the Southeastern lineup. The Lions opened the spring portion of the 2024-25 season with an eighth-place finish in this same event last February.
Following the opening spring event, SLU will have two weeks off before competing in the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Feb. 23-24 in New Orleans.
