HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team opens a busy nonconference stretch this weekend.
SLU (1-0) will open a swing of four matches in four days with a 2 p.m. match at Louisiana Christian (0-1) Saturday. Southeastern then returns home for three straight, starting with a 2 p.m. match versus Southern (0-1) Sunday.
Tuesday will see the Lions host Alcorn State (3-3) at 2 p.m. and Copiah-Lincoln Community College (0-2) at 5 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. Live stats for Tuesday's matches will be available via the tennis schedule page at

SLU opened the spring season with a 5-2 victory over LSU Alexandria Tuesday in Hammond. Southeastern took the doubles point with wins by the team of
Aitana Darder and
Taisia Bolsova, as well as the pair of
Adriana Tirado and
Mariam Tetradze.
All four singles points in SLU's victory last week came from players making their respective Lion dual-match debuts. Tetradze (No. 3), Tirado (No. 6),
Mariam Makashvili (No. 2) and
Paige Duncan (No. 5) all earned straight-set victories Tuesday.
