HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams are traveling to Birmingham, Ala., for the programs' third meet of the indoor season at the UAB Invite inside the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Track events will start at 8:45 a.m. with the women's 5,000-meter run, shortly before the men start the same event. Saturday's field events begin at 9 a.m. with the men's shot put, while jumping events kick off at 9:30 a.m.
After setting a school record in the 400-meter dash at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.,
Onyah Favour will take the track in Birmingham, after posting a record-breaking 52.80 time at her last meet. The junior also passed trios of UCLA and Georgia runners at the University of New Mexico-hosted event, recording a fifth-place finish.
After earning Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week earlier in the season with a high jump of 2.13 meters (6'11"),
Alden Dupree will partake in Saturday's meet.
Porter Gibson, who brought home silver at the LSU Bayou Bengal meet, will compete in the shot put at the UAB Invite, after notching a personal-best throw of 16.53 meters (54'2") at LSU.
After returning from Birmingham, the track and field teams will go to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Tyson Invitational on the campus of the University of Arkansas, taking place from Friday, Feb. 13 to Saturday, Feb. 14.
