NEW ORLEANS – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team finished in ninth place at the Gulf Coast Collegiate, which concluded Tuesday afternoon at the English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Southeastern finished 77-over par for the tournament, as Monday's windy conditions caused scores to skyrocket throughout the field. Augusta posted a tournament score of +34 to win the tournament by 16 strokes.
David Marsh was SLU's top finisher, finishing in a tie for 14
th place at 13-over par for the week. Fellow freshman
Lorenzo Palmieri (+20, T35th) was next in the individual standings for the Lions.
Noah Bumgarner (+25, T48th) carded the team's lowest round Tuesday, posting a 75 over the final 18 holes.
Griffin Dorr (+25, T48th) and
Patrick Blaum (+30, T46th) rounded out the SLU performers this week. Joseph Dolezal of St. John's, along with the Augusta duo of Chapman Barnett and Pieter Rossouw, tied atop the individual leaderboard at nine-over par.
SLU will be back in action next week, competing in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Sugar Land, Texas.
