HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field teams will compete in the Southland Conference Indoor Championships, while the baseball, softball, basketball, golf and tennis teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Southeastern track and field teams will be in Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the SLC Indoor Championships Wednesday and Thursday. The opening day of action opens at 8:30 a.m., while Thursday's events will start at 9:40 a.m.
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion SLU baseball team (2-5) closes out its season-opening eight-game home stand with a 6 p.m. contest versus South Alabama Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The Lions will open Southland play with a three-game series at Northwestern State. The series with the Demons opens with a 6:30 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
The two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Lady Lion softball team (13-3) carries a nine-game winning streak into its most challenging week of the 2026 season. SLU opens the week Wednesday with a 6 p.m. contest at reigning national champion Texas.
Southeastern then heads to UTSA Thursday for a 4 p.m. matchup. Following the contest versus the Roadrunners, the Lady Lions will face another former SLC foe, heading to Texas State for a three-game series, which starts with a 3 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon. Sunday will see SLU take on another former league rival in Sam Houston State at 10 a.m. and Oklahoma at 12:30 p.m. in Norman, Okla.
The Southeastern men's basketball team (8-20, 5-14 SLC) will close out its 2025-26 home schedule Monday at 6 p.m., hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Monday will also be the Residential Life Rivalry game. The Lions head to Nicholls for a 3 p.m. contest Saturday.
The SLU women's basketball team (4-22, 3-16 SLC) hits the road for a pair of contests. Southeastern travels to New Orleans for a 6:30 p.m. contest with the Lady Privateers Thursday, before heading to Nicholls for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday.
The Lion golf team will compete in its second tournament of the spring this week. SLU will be in New Orleans Monday and Tuesday to participate in the Gulf Coast Collegiate.
The Southeastern tennis team (7-2) will travel to UIW to open Southland Conference play Saturday at 1 p.m.
On the Air
All of this week's SLU track and field, baseball, men's basketball and women's basketball contests will be televised on ESPN+, as will Saturday's softball contest. Wednesday's softball game and Sunday's softball contest at Oklahoma will air on SEC Network+.
