HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams will return to action Friday when the programs return to the Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Twilight meet Friday, the final meet before the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
The day will begin with the women's weight throw at 9 a.m. with track events kicking off at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles.
After setting multiple school records and winning Southland Conference Track Athlete of the Week,
Onyah Favour continued her stellar season at the Tyson Invitational last Friday. The junior placed 27
th in the 400-meter dash, clocking a 53.44 time, good for fourth in the Southland Conference. Favour still holds the top Southland times in both the 200-meter (24.03) and 400-meter dash events (52.91). She also owns the third-best Southland time in the 60-meter dash at 7.39.
In the team's last meet at the UAB Green and Gold Invite in Birmingham, Ala.,
Donald Butler earned bronze with a high jump of 2.06 meters (6'9").
Josh-Ty Brown also claimed bronze at the meet, notching a 16.46-meter (54'0") shot put toss.
After the LSU Twilight meet, SLU will return to Birmingham for the Southland Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet will begin Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8:30 a.m.
