HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams celebrate Senior Day, the Angie Simpson Era of SLU beach volleyball officially begins, while the baseball, softball, track and tennis teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Southeastern men's basketball team (8-18, 5-12 SLC) will open the week on the road, facing East Texas A&M Monday at 1 p.m. SLU returns home Saturday to host UTRGV for a 3:30 p.m. contest in the University Center. The game, sponsored by Tangi Tourism, will also be Senior Day, as the 2025-26 senior class of Jalen Forrest, Ethan Pickett, Ubong-Abasi Etim, Jaiden Lawrence, Ahmad Essahaty and Isaiah Gaines will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
 
The Lady Lion women's basketball team (4-20, 3-14 SLC) will close out the home portion of its 2025-26 schedule this week. Southeastern welcomes Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Thursday for a 6 p.m. contest. The annual "Pink Out" game is dedicated to raising awareness and showing support for the fight against breast cancer.
 
UTRGV visits Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day sponsored by Tangi Tourism. Taylor Wilkins and Erynn Williams will be recognizes in a pregame Senior Day ceremony prior to Saturday's home finale.
 
The SLU beach volleyball team will open its season this week at the Florida State Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. Friday will see the Beach Lions face UAB at 12:45 p.m. and North Alabama at 4:30 p.m. Southeastern will face Georgia State at 9 a.m., CSU Bakersfield at 12:45 p.m. and host FSU at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.  
 
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion SLU baseball team (0-3) will continue its season-opening eight-game home stand this week at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Southern Miss will visit Mardi Gras night at 6 p.m. Fans attending Tuesday's game, sponsored by Tangi Tourism, will receive free king cake.
 
Southeastern will then welcome SIUE for a three-game series. The series opens Friday with a 6 p.m. contest sponsored by Champagne Beverage, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.  
Each Friday Funday at the Pat during the season will features fans 12 and under receiving the opportunity to stand with their favorite Lion during the national anthem. Each Saturday will feature Bingo at the Ballpark, while every Sunday will be Military Appreciation Day.
 
The No. 25 and two-time reigning SLC Tournament champion SLU softball team (9-3) will continues its stretch of 20 consecutive games away from home this week, traveling to Conway, Ark. for the UCA Softball Invitational. Southeastern faces St. Louis at noon and host Central Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. Friday, before taking on Evansville at 10 a.m. and St. Louis at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
 
The Southeastern men's and women's track and field teams will compete in its final tune-up before next week's Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this week. The Lions and Lady Lions will be in Baton Rouge Friday to compete at the LSU Twilight.
 
The SLU women's tennis team (6-0) will close out its pre-Southland Conference schedule this week. Southeastern will open the week Monday with a 9 a.m. match at Florida Gulf Coast, before returning home to host Chattanooga Saturday at 10 a.m. The Lions close out the week with a 2 p.m. match Sunday at Dillard.
