HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams will be represented at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Friday by
Onyah Favour.
Favour will compete in the 400-meter dash at 4:10 p.m. at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
The reigning Southland Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week will seek another award after breaking two school records at last week's UAB Green and Gold Invite. The junior posted two first-place finishes of 7.39 and 24.03 in the 60-meter and 200-meter dash events, respectively. Her 7.39 time in the 60-meter event is ranked third in the SLC, while her 200-meter time of 24.03 leads the conference.
In the 400-meter dash, the Asaba, Nigeria native set a school record of 52.80 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Favour claimed fifth in the race, completing the event before six Georgia and UCLA student-athletes.
After competing in Fayetteville, Favour will join the SLU track and field teams when they head back to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Twilight meet, Friday, Feb. 20 at the Carl Maddox Field House.
