FRISCO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's track & field team was represented among the Southland Conference's weekly track and field awards.
Onyah Favour was given the nod by the SLC after strong performances at last week's UAB Green and Gold Invite.
In Birmingham, Ala., Favour went 2-for-2, winning both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash events. She set school records in both events with times of 7.39 and 24.03, respectively.
Her 60-meter dash time of 7.39 ranks third among all Southland Conference student-athletes, while her 24.03 time in the 200-meter dash is the best in the SLC. The junior's 24.03 performance is over 0.2 seconds faster than the second-best time.
Favour's Track Athlete of the Week accolade is the first weekly award of her career and the second of the indoor season for Southeastern's track and field teams with
Alden Dupree having won a Men's Field Athlete of the Week award in January.
The Asaba, Nigeria native will travel to this weekend's two-day Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., starting Friday, Feb. 13.
