HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team released its 2026 schedule Monday morning in anticipation for the spring competition.
Southeastern will commence its 2026 season on the road in the program's first appearance in the Florida State Unconquered Invitational Friday, Feb. 20 in Tallahassee, Fla. SLU will face UAB and North Alabama to open the invitational before competing against Georgia State, CSU Bakersfield and Florida State to close out the weekend.
The Lady Lions' challenging schedule will continue in the Pontchartrain Beach Bash, hosted by Southland Conference member New Orleans March 6-7 against College of Charleston, UNO and McNeese. Southeastern will remain in New Orleans, La. to compete in the third annual Tulane Bayou Beach Duals March 13-14 versus UTEP, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Central Arkansas, Nicholls, McNeese and Tulane.
SLU is returning 11 players from last season's roster that finished 13-20 overall and 3-5 in conference play. In the dawn of a new era, first year Southeastern head coach Angie Simpson has ambitious aims for the season along with its four newcomers to rebrand the program's success.
"My goal is for our program to be nationally recognized as a Top Tier Division 1 beach volleyball program, and for all my players to feel the satisfaction of knowing they have had the opportunity at SLU to maximize their potential as student-athletes," stated Simpson.
The Lady Lions will host three home events this season at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex, located in North Oaks Park. SLU will participate in a Green and Gold intersquad scrimmage Feb. 14 before welcoming Spring Hill to Hammond, America March 17 at 1 p.m. Southeastern will welcome William Carey April 1 at 3 p.m. in honor of Senior Night.
SLU will return to the sand to battle in the multi-day Southland Conference Mid-Year Invitational in Youngsville, La. March 22-23. The Lady will then move forward and travel to Lake Charles, La. to face Tarleton State and conference rival McNeese in the Sandy Polk Invitational March 28.
Southeastern will return to action on the road in the Battle of the Bayou, hosted by LSU April 10-11 before closing out the regular season in Florence, Ala. for the North Alabama Beach Bash April 16-17. The Lady Lions will match up against Central Arkansas to begin the trip before facing Missouri State and host North Alabama to complete its competitive schedule.
SLU has 15 dates set in stone for its 2026 spring regular season schedule that will also feature a postseason appearance at the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament hosted in Corpus Christi, Texas April 23-25.
