HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football and indoor volleyball teams will continue Southland Conference play, the cross country teams will compete in the SLC Championships, the tennis team will close out its fall schedule, while the women's basketball, baseball, softball and beach volleyball teams are set for exhibition action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Southeastern football team (4-4, 2-3 SLC) will leave the state for the final time during the 2026 regular season this week. SLU will head to East Texas A&M Saturday for a 3 p.m. league contest.
 
The red-hot and league-leading Lion indoor volleyball team (12-11, 9-1 SLC) will take its nine-match winning streak on the road this week. Southeastern opens the week's action with a 6 p.m. contest at McNeese, before heading to Nicholls for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday.
 
The SLU men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Southland Conference Championships Friday in Lake Charles, La. The women's 6K Race is set for 8:30 a.m. with the men's 8K race following at 9:30 a.m.
 
The Southeastern women's tennis team will close out the fall portion of its 2026-27 schedule this week. SLU will host the George E. Fourmaux Fed Cup Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
 
Fans can get their first in-game look at the 2026-27 Lion women's basketball team this week. Southeastern hosts Southern-New Orleans for a 6 p.m. exhibition Thursday in the University Center.
 
The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion SLU baseball team will open its home fall exhibition schedule this week, hosting Jones College at 3 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
 
The reigning SLC regular season champion Southeastern softball team hosts its final two fall exhibitions this week. LSU Eunice visits Wednesday, while Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College comes to Hammond Friday. First pitch for both 10-inning exhibitions is set for 5 p.m.
 
The Beach Lion volleyball team is also set for exhibition action this week, traveling to LSU Sunday.

This week's football, indoor volleyball and cross country action will be televised on ESPN+. Saturday's football game can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM)
 
The same Southeastern Sports Radio Network affiliates will air this week's episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, which airs Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the show will cover all things Lion Football and will air weekly Mondays at 7 p.m.  
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Athletics presented by North Oaks Health will air Wednesday on 5 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 the Lion. KSLU 90.9 the Lion broadcasts can also be heard worldwide online at either www.LionSports.net/listenlive or www.LionUpRadio.org, or via the following apps – the Lions Gameday Experience and MyTuner Radio.
