HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team will send three representatives to the 2026 Southland Conference Individual Championships this week at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center in Lake Charles, La.

Southeastern's Mariam Makashvili will represent the Lions in singles play. The Tbilisi, Georgia native was 5-7 in singles play as a freshman last spring. Makashvili will open tournament play versus Lamar's Arina Gudovskaya Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Should Makashvili advance past Gudovskaya, she will face the winner of Friday's first round match between Leticia Tarocco of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Nicholls' Bianca Losada in the semifinals Saturday at 10 a.m. First serve for Sunday's singles final is 10 a.m.

Makashvili's fellow Tbilisi, Georgia product Mariam Tetradze and freshman Kennedy Hutto, a Madison, Miss. native, will be SLU's doubles pairing this week after an impressive debut at the season-opening Dillard Invitational. The Lion duo will face Lamar's Jevrosima Mitic and Martina Alcaino in Friday's quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m.

The top-seeded pair of Yana Mykytyn and Kseniya Ramonouskaya of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi awaits the winner in Saturday's semifinals at noon. Noon is also the start time for Sunday's doubles final.

The winners of the Southland Individual Championships will advance to the ITA Conference Masters Championship Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Ga.
