HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University will celebrate Homecoming, as the football and indoor volleyball teams will host Southland Conference contests, while the soccer, golf, cross country and softball teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Southeastern football team (3-3, 1-2 SLC) will host No. 10/11 Lamar for a 4 p.m. contest, sponsored by North Oaks Health System, in Strawberry Stadium as part of Saturday's Homecoming festivities. The annual Homecoming parade is scheduled for noon.
 
Winners of five consecutive matches, the SLU indoor volleyball team (8-11, 5-1 SLC) opens the week on the road, traveling to face UIW for a 6 p.m. match Wednesday. Southeastern returns home Saturday, hosting HCU at 11 a.m. in the University Center.
 
The Lion soccer team (6-6-2, 2-3-1 SLC) will hit the road for Southland Conference action this week. SLU travels to SFA for a 7 p.m. league contest Thursday in Nacogdoches, Texas.
 
The Southeastern golf team is slated to compete in its third tournament of the fall this week. The Lions will be in Jonesboro, Ark. Monday and Tuesday as part of the 17-team field for the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate. Tee time is 8 a.m. both days.
 
The SLU men's and women's cross country teams will participate in its final tune-up for the Southland Conference Championships later this month. Southeastern will travel to Clinton, Miss. for the Watson College Classic Friday at 8 a.m.
 
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Lion softball team will host its third 10-inning exhibition of the fall this week. Southeastern welcomes East Central (Miss.) Community College to North Oak Park Friday at 5 p.m.

The same Southeastern Sports Radio Network affiliates will air this week's episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, which airs Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the show will cover all things Lion Football and will air weekly Mondays at 7 p.m.  Ella Bertucci, Theta Phi Alpha Sorority Vice President of Membership, will be Monday's guest.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Athletics presented by North Oaks Health will air Wednesday on 5 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 the Lion.
