Southeastern Continues Indoor Season at LSU Bayou Bengal Friday

After earning a Southland Conference Weekly award, SLU will return to Baton Rouge

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams will continue the 2026 indoor season when the programs return to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Bayou Bengal meet, Friday, at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. Onyah Favour will represent SLU women's track & field at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Saturday.
 
Friday's field events at LSU are set to start at 9 a.m. with the women's weight throw. Track events in Baton Rouge will begin at 12 p.m. The meet in Albuquerque will take place over two days, starting Friday at 5 p.m. CST with Favour set to compete at 2:50 p.m. CST Saturday in the 400-meter dash.
 
Set to compete in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational, Onyah Favour kicked off her 2026 campaign with a school record in the 60-meter dash. The junior ran for a 7.44 time in the event, taking third place in the meet.
 
Alden Dupree's high jump of 2.13 meters (6'11") earned him third place and the first Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week award of his career. The sophomore's personal-best 2.13-meter mark is also tied for the 26th-best height among all NCAA Division I student-athletes.
 
Josh-Ty Brown claimed the first gold of the season for the SLU, winning the shot put with a distance of 16.36 meters (53'8"). Porter Gibson earned third in the shot put, notching a 15.78-meter (51'9") distance to take bronze.
 
Southeastern will travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the UAB Invitational at the Birmingham Crossplex, Friday, Feb. 7.
