FRISCO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's track & field team was honored by the Southland Conference Wednesday, when
Alden Dupree was named the Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
At the LSU Purple Tiger meet in Baton Rouge, La.,
Alden Dupree opened the season by placing third in the high jump. Dupree jumped for a personal-best 2.13 meters (6'11") to earn the best performance in the Southland Conference, while also taking the 26
th-best mark among all NCAA Division I athletes.
The sophomore set a previous personal-best in the 2025 Southland Conference Indoor Championships at 2.01 meters (6'7"), placing seventh at the event. The Maringouin, La. native bested that mark by over 0.1 meters at LSU Friday.
Dupree's Field Athlete of the Week award is the first conference award of his career and the first for any SLU track & field athlete this season.
Dupree will be back in Baton Rouge Friday, when the Southeastern track & field programs compete in the LSU Bayou Bengal meet at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
