HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football team opens its home schedule, the two-time reigning Southland Conference champion indoor volleyball team will look to continue its undefeated start, the SLU soccer and cross country teams will also be in action and the North Oaks Health System Hall of Fame Banquet is on tap during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Southeastern football team (1-1) will host Mississippi Valley State Saturday at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. North Oaks Health System will be the game sponsor for the home opener.
The 2025 Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame class will be recognized at halftime. This year's class of Mack Boatner, Courtney Donald Sweeney, Cqulin Hubert, Ed Nodhturft, Hope Sabadash and Sarah Williams will be inducted at Friday's 6 p.m. North Oaks Health System Hall of Fame Banquet in the Student Union Ballroom. At the banquet, the 1975 SLU baseball team that advanced to the College World Series, as well as 2024-25 SLU Athletes of the Year Brennan Stuprich and Maria Detillier will also be recognized.
The SLU volleyball team (5-0) will continue an eight-match road swing this week and look to build on a hot start. SLU starts the week at the Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala., facing host South Alabama Thursday at 6 p.m. and Tulane Friday at 1 p.m. The Lady Lions then close the week with a 2 p.m. contest at LSU Sunday in Baton Rouge.
The Southeastern women's soccer team (0-4-2) will return home for a pair of nonconference matches this week. SLU hosts Southern Friday at 7 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium, welcoming the Lady Jags to Hammond for Greek Night and Student Organization Night. Mississippi Valley State visits Sunday for a 6 p.m. contest.
The Lion and Lady Lion cross country teams will compete in the LSU Invitational Friday. The men's 2x4K relay will open the day at 8:15 a.m. with the women's 2x3K relay following at 9 a.m.
On the Air
This week's football and soccer action will be on ESPN+, as will Thursday's volleyball match. Sunday's volleyball match at LSU will air on SEC Network+.
The 2025 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo will continue Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Scelfo and host Allen Waddell will discuss all things Lion football on the hour-long show weekly during the season, which airs on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
The same Southeastern Sports Radio Network stations will broadcast Saturday's football game. Both of this week's soccer contests will air on LionUpRadio.org.
