ONEONTA, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team posted the second-lowest round of the opening day of the GMAC Invitational Monday at Limestone Springs Golf Club.
 
Monday was a tale of two rounds for the Lions. At the end of the opening round, SLU sat atop the leaderboard after an opening-round 276 (-4). However, Southeastern scuffled in the second round of the day and finished the day in 12^th place with a two-round score of 581 (+21).
 
Lipscomb sits at even par and holds a two-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round. Alabama's Brycen Jones (-8) is competing as an individual and sits atop the player leaderboard.
 
Noah Bumgarner opened his day with an eagle and is in a tie for 36^th place to lead the Lions (+5). In his first collegiate round, Lorenzo Palmieri carded a 68 and sits in a tie for 39^th place (+6) for SLU. David Marsh (+7, T44th), Griffin Dorr (+8, T51st) and Preston Paulk (+12, T62nd) rounded out the SLU starting five.
