HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program will face a grueling slate of 30 games in Southland Conference action as the defending league champions this coming season, the conference office announced Thursday.
Ten of the league's 11 teams will take the field each weekend, with one team receiving a bye in conference play. Each program will play 10 three-game series, with league action set to begin February 27. Opening weekend features marquee matchups between last year's top four seeds, as regular season champions Southeastern (38-16, 22-8 SLC) visits Northwestern State in Natchitoches, while UTRGV travels to Lamar in Beaumont.
SLU will step out of conference play, March 6-8, before resuming its Southland schedule, March 13-15, in Hammond against Stephen F. Austin.
The annual Pontchartrain Bowl rivalry series against New Orleans will take place in Hammond this season, March 27-29.
Also making the trip to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field are Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 10-12), HCU (April 24-26) and Nicholls (May 7-9).
The Lions will travel to McNeese (March 20-22), UIW (April 2-4), UTRGV (April 17-19) and Lamar (May 1-3) as the matchups mirror the 2025 slate.
The 2026 Southland Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 14–17, with bracket play hosted at the sites of the regular-season champion and runner-up. Those two double-elimination tournaments will determine the finalists for the Southland Championship Series, set for May 21–23 at the home of the highest remaining seed.
