HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics will help students and fans gear up for the 2025-26 athletic season with a pair of long-standing annual events in August.
 
SLU students can enjoy Strawberry Jam Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. Southeastern will once again host LionPawlooza at Cate Square Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. in conjunction with the Hammond Downtown Development District's Hot August Stroll.
 
Strawberry Jam is open to Southeastern students only. Lion and Lady Lion student-athletes, the Spirit of the Southland band, as well as the national champion cheerleaders and Lionnette dance team will "Storm the Dorms" at 5:30 p.m. leading students into Strawberry Stadium for the event.
 
At the Strawberry Jam pep rally, students will hear from the SLU soccer, football and reigning Southland Conference champion indoor volleyball teams along with SLU Student Government Association president Maria Nechaeva, as well as enjoy performances by Southeastern's national champion spirit squads and the Spirit of the Southland band and drumline.
 
Games and other interactive activities will be available for entertainment. The first 1,000 Southeastern students will receive a free 2025 Gameday in Hammond, America t-shirt and free food will also be served.
 
The entire community is invited to join the Lions and Lady Lions for LionPawlooza. The community pep rally opens with performances by the Spirit of the Southland band and spirit squads. Fans will hear from the football and indoor volleyball teams and will have the chance to interact with student-athletes from both teams and the Southeastern spirit squads.
 
Southeastern's first athletic competition of the 2025-26 season is set for Aug. 14 when the SLU women's soccer team travels to ULM for a 5 p.m. nonconference contest.

All tickets will be available via e-mail or text message in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
