HAMMOND, La. – Three student-athletes will continue their academic and athletic endeavors as members of the two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball program, SLU head coach Rick Fremin announced Thursday.
 
The newest Lady Lions are infielder Katie Lott (Cypress, Texas | Texas Tech), pitcher Tyler Oubre (Destrehan, Louisiana | Liberty) and outfielder Veronica Puckett (Deltona, Florida | Daytona State Community College).
 
The three additions give SLU eight newcomers for the 2026 season. Southeastern announced the signing of pitcher Bre Clark (Panama City Beach, Florida | Arnold HS), pitcher Haley Crawford (Houston, Texas | Temple College), catcher Lily Garcia (Troy, Texas | Temple College), outfielder Bryana Pantalion (Liberty, Texas | Liberty HS) and pitcher Katherine Thiessen (Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada | Lloydminster Comprehensive HS) last November.
 
"We had identified some areas of need that we were able to address with these latest additions that allows us to move forward as a program," Fremin commented. "All three have Division I experience with two of the three having Super Regional or College World Series experience, which is where we're trying to go."
 
The new faces will join a Southeastern program that is coming off a 50-16 season that saw it defeat No. 10 LSU twice to advance to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional final. SLU is one of eight Division I schools to win 40 or more games in each of the past four seasons.
 
The Lady Lions will officially open their 2026 campaign at the NFCA Leadoff Classic, scheduled for Feb. 5-8 in Clearwater, Florida. SLU's eight-game fall exhibition slate opens with a 10-inning scrimmage versus Pensacola State Sept. 26 at 4:30 p.m. at North Oak Park.
