HAMMOND, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will make its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, the SLC regular season champion SLU baseball team will host the Southland Conference Baseball Championships Hammond Bracket presented by GeoSurfaces, while the Lion and Lady Lion track and field teams compete in the SLC Outdoor Championships during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Southeastern softball team (48-14) will compete in the Baton Rouge Regional, which runs Friday through Sunday. SLU will open regional play with a 4:30 p.m. contest versus host and No. 10 national seed LSU Friday. The four-team regional also includes Nebraska and UConn.
The SLU baseball team (37-14) will be the No. 1 seed in the SLC Baseball Championships and will host the 4,5 and 8 seeds for the Hammond Bracket presented by GeoSurfaces. The Lions will face No. 8 seed New Orleans Thursday at 6 p.m. in to open the four-team double-elimination bracket, which also includes No. 4 seed Northwestern State and fifth-seeded McNeese.
Bracket play in the Southland Baseball Championships will run through Sunday. The winners of the Hammond Bracket and the Edinburg Bracket, hosted by No. 2 seed UTRGV, will face off in the best-of-three championship series, hosted by the highest remaining seed May 22-24.
The Lion and Lady Lion track and field teams will be at Holloway Field in Houston, Texas to compete in the SLC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet runs Thursday through Saturday.

Friday's softball game at LSU will be on SEC Network and the entire Baton Rouge Regional will be televised on the ESPN family of networks with specific channel assignments available as the regional progresses. All of this week's baseball games, as well as the final two days of the SLC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be televised on ESPN+. All of this week's baseball games can be heard on 90.9 The Lion.
