Dorr, Paulk Lead Lions on Opening Day of SLC Championships

SLU in ninth heading into Tuesday's second round

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team sits in a tie for ninth place following Monday's opening round of the Southland Conference Championships at Comanche Trace.
 
Southeastern shot a 305 (+17) over the first 18 holes. Augusta (-3) was the only team to shoot under par and heads into Tuesday's second round with a five-stroke lead.
 
Freshman Preston Paulk was tied for sixth among the field with four birdies on the day and was also second on the day in the tournament on par-4 holes. Paulk and teammate Griffin Dorr were the top finishers on day one for the Lions (+3, T20th).
 
Colby Sullivan (+5, T37th), Viggo Hed (+6, T45th) and Ethan Dial (+9, T53rd) rounded out the Lion performances Monday. Augusta's Bo Blanchard (-6) holds a four-stroke lead after the first 18 holes.
 
Southeastern will be paired with Lamar and Stephen F. Austin for Tuesday's second round, which tees off at 11 a.m. Live scoring, provided by the Southland Conference, will be accessible via the golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
