HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team will return to action this weekend in the NOLA Classic to close out the regular season in New Orleans, La. at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.
The Lady Lions (10-16, 3-5 SLC) are looking to wrap up their regular season on a strong note before the 2025 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament Championship. As the postseason tournament nears, Southeastern is seeking to regain a position in the winning category after falling 4-1 to UAB to cap the Blazer Beach Bash.
SLU will battle seeking to claim a spark of momentum by kicking things off Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in a rematch against San Jose State (10-16, 6-2 SLC). The Spartans finished 1-1 last week, suffering a 3-2 loss to Santa Clara before bouncing back to secure a 5-0 victory over Pacific. The Lady Lions will face Tulane at 4 p.m. to end day one of the tournament. The Green Wave are returning from a 3-2 victory over Stephen F. Austin last weekend and stand 8-1 at home this season.
Southeastern will return to the sand to face conference rival McNeese (11-13, 2-6 SLC) Saturday at 11 a.m. to start the day. The Cowgirls are looking to gain a win on the road after falling to ULM at home. SLU will close out its final regular season match against Tarleton State (5-11) at 1:30 p.m. to cap the weekend. The Texans are seeking to end the two-day tournament with a victory after falling 1-5 in the Islander Classic.
Six teams, including FAU, will be competing in the NOLA Classic. All matches will be played at the White Sands Volleyball Courts. Concluding Saturday's matches, the Lady Lions will compete in the Southland Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament Wednesday, April 23-25 in New Orleans, La. All matches will be held at Privateer Beach.
