HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team will return to the sand this weekend as the Lady Lions travel to Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the 2025 Blazer Beach Bash at the UAB Beach Volleyball Courts.

Southeastern (8-14, 3-5 SLC) is seeking to build off the momentum of last weekend's victories over Spring Hill and Southern Miss. SLU posted its first 5-0 sweep of the season against the Badgers, before defeating Southern Miss 4-1 to close out the Hub City Beach Bash undefeated on the road.

The Lady Lions are looking to extend their three-match winning streak in Alabama, with only two weekends remaining in the regular season before the rapidly approaching conference tournament. Southeastern will kick things off Friday morning at 10 a.m. against Chattanooga to begin day one of the tournament. Chattanooga (15-5, 6-0) recently snapped its seven-match winning streak, suffering a 3-2 loss to UT Martin on the road.

SLU wrap day one of the Blazer Beach Bash against Tennessee Tech (3-10, 1-5) at 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles are looking to regain a position in the winning category as they suffered their third straight loss to end the month of March.

Southeastern will return Saturday afternoon to open serve against UAB (14-10, 2-2) at 4 p.m. to close out the weekend. The Blazers finished 3-1 last weekend in the Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, South Carolina. UAB secured a 5-0 victory over Lynchburg before defeating UNC Wilmington 4-1 to claim a two-match winning streak.

Six teams, including Missouri State and Austin Peay, will be competing in the 2025 Blazer Beach Bash. All matches will be played at the UAB Beach Volleyball Courts.

Following Saturday's matches, SLU will remain on the road in the NOLA Classic Friday, April 18-19 in New Orleans, La. The Lady Lions will open the tournament against Tulane Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
