HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will close out the road portion of its regular season nonconference schedule Tuesday with a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Jackson State.
The twin bill between SLU (29-8) and host Jackson State (18-13) will be streamed at

Southeastern heads to JSU riding a seven-game winning streak. The Lady Lions, who currently lead the Southland Conference with an 11-1 SLC record, swept Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a three-game series last week in North Oak Park.
SLU is hitting .333 as a team heading into Tuesday's action.
Maria Detillier leads the team with a .404 batting average, followed by
Chloe Magee (.398),
Shelby Morris (.371),
Shenita Tucker (.366) and
Kailey Dixon (.347). Detillier leads the Southland with 39 RBI, while Mage has scored a team-high 32 runs.
Detillier and
Cydnee Schneider share the team lead with 10 doubles and three home runs apiece. Detillier and
Colleen Kulivan are tied atop the conference with four triples, as SLU's single-season school record 23 triples are the most in Division I.
Southeastern also leads the nation with 129 stolen bases. Magee paces the squad with 23 steals and is joined in double figures by Morris (19), Tucker (15),
Brilee Broussard (14), Detillier (12), Dixon (10) and Kulivan (10).
The SLU pitching staff is currently among the national leaders in earned run average (1.90, 5
th) and shutouts (11, 9
th).

Hallie Burns (9-3, 1.81 ERA) and
Britney Lewinski (5-4, 2.46 ERA, 3 saves) have been an effective trio in the circle for the Lady Lions.
Southeastern will be facing a JSU lineup that carries a .317 team batting average. Ka'Liyah Gibson leads Jackson State with a .476 batting average and 31 stolen bases, while Jace Jackson is the team's top power threat with four home runs and 41 RBI.
The Tigers enter Tuesday's doubleheader with a 4.62 team ERA. Brooklyn Morris (5-4, 4.38 ERA), Jorgina Gant (5-3, 4.67 ERA) and Softa Gonzalez (6-4, 4.17 ERA) have split the majority of the innings in the circle for JSU.
The top two teams in the SLC standings will meet this week in North Oak Park, as Southeastern welcomes McNeese for a three-game league series, sponsored by North Oaks Health System. The series starts with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday at North Oak Park. Friday is Youth Travel Ball Night and young Southeastern fans can wear their team jerseys and run the bases following the twin bill. The series wraps with a noon contest Saturday.
