HAMMOND, La. – After helping the reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team to a 5-0 finish at the Mardi Gras Mambo, junior third baseman Maria Detillier was named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week in an announcement from the league office Monday.
 
Detillier's honor marked the second time SLU has received a SLC weekly honor this season. Her teammate Macie LaRue received Southland Pitcher of the Week honors Feb. 10. The weekly honor was the second career received by Detillier.
 
In a 5-0 week for Southeastern, Detillier hit .615 (8-for-13) with two triples, six RBI and four stolen bases. She has two hits apiece in wins over Maine, Iowa State, Monmouth and Army. In Sunday's 13-0 win over Monmouth, she also was one of five Lady Lions to contribute to the single-game school record total of five triples.
 
In her third season with SLU, Detillier is batting .361 and leads the Southland with 19 RBI and three triples, while ranking second in the league with six doubles.
 
SLU will close out a 12-game road swing Wednesday with a 6 p.m. game at Southern Miss. Wednesday's contest will be televised on ESPN+.
