HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team will continue its four-match home stand Tuesday, welcoming Loyola University of New Orleans for a 5 p.m. match at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The Lions (9-3) are coming off back-to-back 5-2 Southland Conference victories at home over UIW and Lamar.
The bottom half of the singles draw shares the team lead for victories for Southeastern.
Aitana Darder is 8-3 on No. 5, while Panatachakorn Suanarsa (No. 4) and
Taisia Bolsova (No. 6) both boast 8-4 records.
In doubles play, both SLU's No. 1 team of Suanarsa and
Bente Bierma, as well as the No. 2 duo of Darder and
Leana Gomez have 7-4 records this spring. The new team of Bolsova and
Claudia Di Leonardo (2-1) rounds out the projected doubles starters for the Lions.
Loyola (6-1) is currently ranked eighth in the NAIA national rankings. The Wolfpack already has a Division I win over a Southland Conference foe this spring, having defeated Nicholls, 4-3, in the season opener. Southeastern earned a 4-3 victory over Loyola last spring in Hammond.
Following Tuesday's match, Southeastern will close out its home stand with a 1 p.m. match versus SLC foe McNeese Saturday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
