HAMMOND, La. –The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team will open the road portion of its spring schedule Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Jackson State.
The Lions (3-1) carry a two-match winning streak into Saturday's match. SLU took down Grambling, 7-0, and Dillard, 5-2, last weekend in Hammond.
Taisia Bolsova and
Leana Gomez both carry team-best 3-1 singles marks.
Aitana Darder (2-1),
Claudia Di Leonardo (2-2),
Panatchakorn Suanarsa (2-2),
Kate Oborina (1-0) and
Bente Bierma (1-3) have also seen action in singles play this spring.
Bierma and Suanarsa have teamed for a team-best 3-1 doubles record on the No. 1 court. The No. 2 pair of Darder and Gomez, as well as the No. 3 duo of Bolsova and
Bogi Csordas both enter Saturday's action at 2-2.
Jackson State opened the spring with a 7-0 loss to Stephen F. Austin. The Tigers, who play at Mississippi College Friday afternoon, defeated SLU, 4-3, last January in Hammond.
Following Saturday's match, SLU will return home to host Louisiana Christian Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
