HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team made its debut at No. 22 in the Mid-Major Top 25, D1Softball announced Wednesday.
 
The poll is released each Wednesday and every program outside of the Power 4 conference are eligible.
 
SLU is currently 11-6 overall with its last four losses coming to the top 10 trio of No. 6 LSU, No. 8 Florida State and No. 5 Texas A&M. Three of those losses to the nation's elite came by one run in walk-off fashion.
 
Southeastern has victories over 2024 NCAA Tournament participants South Alabama and Charlotte this season. The Lady Lions are currently second in Division I with 59 stolen bases and third nationally with nine triples.
 
SLU continues its 12-game road swing this week, traveling to Youngsville, Louisiana for the Mardi Gras Mambo. The Lady Lions open their five-game, three-day slate with a 2 p.m. contest versus Maine Friday.
