Southeastern Travels to South Alabama, JoAnne Graf Classic

SLU (8-3) enters 12-game road swing on a six-game winning streak

HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will open a stretch of 12 games away from home this week.
 
SLU (8-3) will open the week with a 6 p.m. contest at South Alabama (5-5) Wednesday in Mobile, Alabama. Wednesday's game will air on ESPN+.
 
Southeastern then travels to the JoAnne Graf Classic, hosted by No. 8 Florida State. The Lady Lions will face FSU (8-1) in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Friday on ACC Network+. SLU takes on Florida A&M (1-4) in a 9 a.m. doubleheader Saturday, before closing the tournament with a 9 a.m. contest versus No. 7 Texas A&M Sunday.
 
SLU enters the week's action on a six-game winning streak. Brilee Ford leads Southeastern with a .583 batting average, followed by Chloe Magee (.520), Shelby Morris (.476) and Ariel Gomez (.455). Maria Detillier has a team-high 11 RBI, while Morris and Brilee Broussard have each scored 10 runs.
 
The Lady Lion pitching staff has a 1.71 ERA and five shutouts. Hallie Burns (2-2, 1.11 ERA), Macie LaRue (3-0, 2.07 ERA) and Britney Lewinski (1-1, 2.72 ERA) are the primary arms for SLU.
 
Ansleigh Smith (.313) leads South Alabama at the plate, while Gabby Stagner has a team-high five home runs and 12 RBI. Ryley Harrison (3-1, 3.20 ERA, 2 saves), Olivia Cato (1-1, 5.93 ERA) and Tori Miller (1-1, 6.79 ERA) have handled the majority of the work in the circle.
 
FSU is hitting a blistering .395 as a team, led by Kennedy Harp (.704, 4 HR, 18 RBI). Annabelle Widra (3-0, 0.42 ERA) and Jazzy Francik (2-0, 0.50 ERA, 1 save) leads the Seminole pitching staff.
 
Florida A&M enters the tournament with a 1-4 record. The Rattlers picked up their first win of the season at last weekend's HBCU Classic Tournament.
 
Texas A&M is hitting .360 as a team with Frankie Vrazel (.481) and Mac Barbara (3 HR, 17 RBI) are the top Aggie bats. Emiley Kennedy (4-1, 2.18 ERA, 1 save), Sidne Peters (3-0, 1.83 ERA) and Sydney Lessentine (2-0, 0.64) have seen the most time in the circle for Texas A&M.
 
Following this week's trip, Southeastern will travel to Youngsville, Louisiana to compete in the Mardi Gras Mambo. The tournament opens up with a 2 p.m. contest versus Maine Friday.
