FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern Louisiana University's
Terrell Webb set a new personal best on the way to winning the weight throw competition at the Tyson Invitational Friday at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center.
Webb's winning throw of 75 feet, 4.5 inches (22.97 m) came on his sixth and final try. The Lion graduate topped Nebraska's Henry Zimmerman's runner-up toss of 73-9 (22.48 m).
Webb's winning throw was the 10
th-best in Division I this season. Webb continues to raise the bar in his final indoor season as a Lion, as he easily bested his season-best throw of 70-9 (21.56 m) at last weekend's UAB Vulcan Invitational.
Webb was one of two SLU student-athletes to compete Friday.
Onyah Favour finished eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 54.80 seconds, just a shade off her season-best time of 54.62 set last week at UAB.
Southeastern will close out its preparations for next month's Southland Conference Indoor Championships next Friday, when it competes at the LSU Twilight.
