HAMMOND, La. – Mariam Tetradze will continue her academic and athletic endeavors as a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team, SLU head tennis coach
Jason Hayes announced Monday.
Tetradze, who hails from the capital city of Tbilisi in the country of Georgia, will join the Lions for the 2025-26 season. She is the second 2025-26 SLU signee from Tbilisi, Georgia, joining Mariam Makashvili, who signed last November.
"We're excited to add Mariam to the team," Hayes said. "She's a hard worker that has continued to grow as a player over the last few years. Her friendship with Mariam Makashvili made her decision to join our program an even easier one."
Tetradze has been ranked as high at 1,517 in the WTA world rankings. In 2024, she reached the finals of the Mziuri Cup and the semifinals of the Tbilisi Cup.
Tetradze's future teammates are currently 4-1 this spring and will return to the court Saturday, hosting Louisiana Christian at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
