HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams return to action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
Winners of its last two contests, the SLU men's basketball team (3-5) will open Southland Conference play Sunday, hosting Northwestern State at 3:30 p.m. in the University Center.
 
The Southeastern women's basketball team (2-3, 1-0 SLC) will open the week with a nonconference 7 p.m. contest at No. 15 Baylor Wednesday. The Lady Lions then welcome Northwestern State for a 1 p.m. SLC contest Sunday in the University Center.
 
Eryn McKinzie will be Sunday's Spotlight Player of the Game, as the first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring the Fort Worth, Texas native, courtesy of PRIDE. Southeastern Athletics will host Lion Slam in conjunction with Sunday's hoops doubleheader.

All three Southeastern contests this week will be televised on ESPN+.
 
The 2025 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo concludes Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Scelfo and host Allen Waddell will discuss all things Lion football on the hour-long show weekly during the season, which airs on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Athletics presented by North Oaks Health System will air Wednesday on 5 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 the Lion, where all of this week's basketball action can also be heard.
