HAMMOND, La. – Playoff football returns to Hammond, America and the Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team will hit the road during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU football team (9-3) will make its sixth appearance in the NCAA FCS playoffs, hosting for the fifth time. The No. 16 seed Lions will host Illinois State Saturday at noon in Strawberry Stadium with the winner advancing to face No. 1 seed and reigning national champion North Dakota State next Saturday in Fargo, N.D. Southeastern previously made playoff appearances in 2013, 2014, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
 
The Southeastern men's basketball team (1-4) will travel to Wilmington, N.C. for the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic. The Lions will open the tournament Wednesday versus host UNC Wilmington with a 6 p.m. contest. SLU will take on Gardner-Webb Friday and Navy Saturday with both games tipping off at 11 a.m.

Saturday's football game will air on ESPN+, while all of this week's basketball games will stream on FloSports.com.
 
The 2025 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo will continue Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Scelfo and host Allen Waddell will discuss all things Lion football on the hour-long show weekly during the season, which airs on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
 
Angelo Distefano of Angelo's Landscape Group will be Monday's Community Spotlight Guest.
 
Saturday's football game will air on the same Southeastern Sports Radio Network affiliates.
