HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams tip off the 2025-26 season, the soccer team competes at the Southland Conference Tournament, the football team hits the road for a key SLC clash, the volleyball team closes out its home slate and celebrates Senior Day, the baseball team hosts a scrimmage versus reigning national champion LSU and the tennis team hosts its fall finale during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Lion men's basketball team will open the season Monday with a 7 p.m. contest at Ole Miss. SLU then heads to UL Lafayette Friday for a 7:30 p.m. matchup at the Ragin' Cajuns.
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern women's basketball team opens the season at home, hosting Centenary for the annual Field Trip Game at 11 a.m. Monday in the University Center. Freshman guard Lihi Azouri is Monday's Spotlight Player of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring the Herzilya, Gush Dan, Israel native courtesy of PRIDE.
SLU will open a three-game road swing Thursday with a 7 p.m. game at No. 5 LSU.

The SLU soccer team (6-7-4, 5-3-2 SLC) is the third seed in this week's Southland Conference Tournament in Beaumont, Texas. The Lady Lions will face host and No. 6 seed Lamar in the first round Tuesday at 7 p.m. The winner of the game will face the SFA-Texas A&M-Corpus Christi winner in Thursday's semifinals at 7 p.m.
The semifinal winners will meet in Sunday's championship match at 1 p.m. with the winner claiming the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Winners of five straight games, the No. 16/21 Lion football team (7-2, 5-0 SLC) will face a tough Southland Conference road test this week, traveling to No. 14 Lamar for a 3 p.m. contest in Beaumont, Texas.
The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion SLU indoor volleyball team (18-6, 10-2 SLC) carries a five-match winning streak of its own into its final home matches of the fall. Thursday will see Southeastern welcome Lamar for a 6:30 p.m. match. Thursday's match will feature Camp Reunion Night, as SLU volleyball campers can wear their camp t-shirts and be recognized at the match.
The Lady Lions will host SLC co-leader SFA for Saturday's noon home finale. Southeastern will honor Peyton Stokley, Lily Morgan, Lexi Gonzalez, Alexis Logarbo and India Bennett prior to Saturday's match in a Senior Day ceremony.
The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern baseball team will host defending national champion LSU for a 1 p.m. scrimmage Sunday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
The Lion tennis team will close out its fall schedule this week, hosting the George E. Fourmaux Invitational Friday through Sunday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

Monday's men's basketball and Thursday's women's basketball games can be seen on SEC Network+, while Friday's men's basketball and Monday's women's basketball contests, as well as all of this week's soccer, football and volleyball action will be televised on ESPN+. Both men's basketball games, Thursday's women's basketball game and Saturday's volleyball match can be heard on KSLU 90.9 The Lion.
The 2025 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo will continue Monday at 7 p.m. at Brady's in downtown Hammond. Scelfo and host Allen Waddell will discuss all things Lion football on the hour-long show weekly during the season, which airs on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
