CLINTON, Miss. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams competed in its final pre-Southland Conference Championships meet Friday at the Watson College Classic at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.

The Lions finished in 14^th place in the men's standings. The Lady Lions only competed with three runners and didn't take part in the team competition.
Tanner Salsman led SLU on the men's side, finishing 44^th with a time of 26:29.45 on the 8K course. Matthew Norman (27:50.24, 85^th), Landen Schillage (27:52.81, 86^th), D'Juan Joseph (29:33.66, 145^th) and Matthew Berthelot (29:35.62, 146^th) made up the rest of the Southeastern men's contingent.

Ava Pitarro continues to be the standout for the Lady Lions, as the Walker, Louisiana native finished 37^th, covering the 6K course in 24:10.86. Nikola Vimmerova (26:29.53, 86^th) and Mya Parker (27:12.61, 101^st) also represented SLU in the field.  

The Southland Conference Championships are set for Halloween in Natchitoches, La. The meet will be televised on ESPN+ and live scoring, provided by the Southland Conference, will be accessible via the cross country schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
