HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams will compete in its final pre-Southland Conference Championships meet Friday at the Watson College Classic at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.
The men's 8K race will start at 8 a.m. with the women's 6K race following at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring, provided by host Mississippi College, will be accessible via the cross country schedule page at
www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern will be in action for the first time since Sept. 27, where the men's team finished third and the women came in fifth.
Ava Pitarro led the Lady Lions with a sixth-place showing, while
Tanner Salsman posted a ninth-place finish to lead SLU on the men's side.
Pitarro will be part of the Southeastern women's contingent Friday, along with Nikola Vimmerova,
JoAnna Cornette and
Mya Parker. Salsman will be joined by Lion teammates
Matthew Berthelot,
Landen Schillage,
D'Juan Joseph and
Matthew Norman.
The Southland Conference Championships are set for Halloween in Natchitoches, La. The meet will be televised on ESPN+ and live scoring, provided by the Southland Conference, will be accessible via the cross country schedule page at
www.LionSports.net.
