HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams will look to continue their respective winning streaks, while the women's tennis team will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU men's basketball team (12-8, 6-3 SLC) carries a six-game winning streak into this week's action. The Lions will welcome HCU Monday for a contest that will tip off at 6 p.m. or 30 minutes from the conclusion of the women's game. Monday is Faculty and Staff Night for the men's contest and SLU faculty and staff will receive free admission by presenting their Southeastern ID.
 
Saturday will see New Orleans visit the University Center for a 3:30 p.m. contest. Saturday's hoops doubleheader will be Breast Cancer Awareness Day and fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
 
The Southeastern women's basketball team (15-3, 9-0 SLC) will look to extend its longest unbeaten streak to start Southland Conference play. The Lady Lions host HCU at 4 p.m. Monday for the NIL game that will see fans have the opportunity to purchase personalized merchandise featuring their favorite players.
 
SLU and Thursday's opponent, Lamar, enter the week's action as the only two teams yet to suffer a conference loss in 2024-25. Thursday will be Greek Night in the UC, as all Southeastern fraternities and sororities are encouraged to attend the 6 p.m. showdown for the conference lead. UNO visits Saturday at 1 p.m. to wrap up a busy week for the Lady Lions.
 
Lexi Alexander (Monday), Terri Crawford (Thursday) and Mackenzie Thomas (Saturday) are this week's Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring that day's Spotlight Player of the Game courtesy of PRIDE.
 
The Lion tennis team (1-0) will conclude its four-match home stand to open the spring portion of its schedule, hosting three in-state foes this week at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. UL Lafayette visits Tuesday at 1 p.m., SLU meets Grambling Saturday at 1 p.m. with Dillard coming to town for a 3 p.m. match Sunday.
