HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football and indoor volleyball teams open their respective home schedules, the cross country teams return to the course and the North Oaks Health System Hall of Fame Banquet is on tap during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU football team (0-2) opens its home schedule Saturday, welcoming Eastern Washington at 6 p.m. at Strawberry Stadium. Saturday's contest is sponsored by North Oaks Health System and Lion fans are encouraged to wear their best green Southeastern gear to help Green Out Strawberry Stadium.
 
The reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern indoor volleyball team (2-4) will host a pair of nonconference opponents in the University Center to open its home schedule. South Alabama visits Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest. Fans will able to get post-match autographs from their favorite Lady Lions.
 
Jackson State is scheduled to come to Hammond Thursday, for the noon Field Trip match in the UC. A busy week for head coach Jeremy White's squad wraps up with SLU heading to Ruston to compete in the Battle for the Boot. The Lady will face Southern at noon and Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m. Friday.
 
The Lion and Lady Lion cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the fall this week. SLU heads to Baton Rouge for the LSU Invitational Friday, with the men's race scheduled for 8:15 a.m. and the women's race following at 9 a.m.
 
The North Oaks Health System Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the War Memorial Student Union Ballroom. The 2024 Hall of Fame class of Amir Abdur-Rahim, Chris Laiche, Kevin Millican and Alex Young will be honored, as well as the 1975 national championship men's track and field team and the 2023-24 SLU Athletes of the Year Ka'Lyn Watson (softball) and Slavko Stevic (men's track and field). The Hall of Fame class will also be recognized at halftime of Saturday's SLU-EWU football game.

Saturday's football game will be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).

The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo airs Monday at 7 p.m. from Brady's in downtown Hammond. The show will air on Mondays throughout the season with Scelfo and host Allen Waddell discussing all things Lion Football on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
 
Chanc Kinchen of Cena; Hammond will be the Community Spotlight guest for Monday's show.
